Capitalism produces bullshit abundance.
We need radical abundance: more of what we actually need (care, time, public services, biodiversity, secure housing) and less of what we do not (planned obsolescence, useless commodities, waste).
Transition is (of course) required.
Transition requires Popular protagonism and Contested reproduction.
They go into detail on public-commons partnerships as the institutional form of choice.
On the question of joy at the end, I liked how Kai Heron said joy for him is not a political thing - it's more personal, like playing with his daughter. Political motivation for him is more driven by a sense of tragedy. That resonated with me. That said, Keir Milburn said he's more of a Spinozan and believes in the ability to experience collective joy in political activity.
