This is probably true but also problematic. A technology is invented, pushed upon the world, then supposedly we have no choice but to try to adapt it and also try to adapt to it. It suggests that once a genie is out of the bottle then we can't put it back in. Worse, we were never consulted in letting the genie out in the first place.
